Overview
What’s more homey than your grandmother on the holidays? SLING’s pop cult Grandma has taken a funny and relevant turn to make viewers extra-appreciate the streaming service they cut their cable cords for, and added yesterday’s cord lovers and cord nevers to the family. This holiday hub campaign was a wonderful way to make people laugh after the very aggravating experience that was 2020. Though I wasn’t a consistent collaborator on this project, I did have the opportunity to brainstorm some ideas in the beginning and later put some memes together for social.
Process
The holiday hub team provided copy and imagery to coincide with popular memes. I took the images and Photoshopped them to be recognizable enough for people to understand. Here are two thus far, with more to come:

You can customize playlists and even arrange live performances from local artists. With Harmonize, accessing music therapy is easy and inspiring.

A poster created to portray John Scofield’s funky music for the Folly Theater in downtown Kansas City. I chose to make his head a guitar to represent his love for the instrument that he has played for decades.

Their mission is to aid people in obtaining more positivity in their lives by providing the tools and information that is needed to start a spiritual journey. They help people dream, believe, and become whoever it is that they want to be.
Music Makes Sense is about getting people to think about music in different and unique ways. What would it be like if music was described in colors and senses, instead of just separated genres?

This was a collaborative project done with Kaylie Beckley and Tessa Canon. The objective was to use video to create a practical experience that assists a novice in completing a relatively simple mechanical task. We chose a campfire for people seeking a fun, social, outdoor activity.

A typeface created using the keywords tribal, angular, and geometric. Nakota is a tribal name meaning friend or ally. With this typeface you can “converse with allies.” This is a 24x36 poster made to represent the typeface.
